Gorget and Pauldron
'Gorget and Pauldron’ is a mixed media painting/drawing created with a combination of gesso, oil, acrylic and graphite.
It depicts a portion of an anatomical model of a skeleton held together by a rusted iron clamp (the pauldron) with the spinal column elongated by a piece of 19th century clockwork (the gorget). The subject emerges from a swirling and abstracted background.
The painting has been completed on hardboard so it is rather heavy and would ideally be hung on a french cleat.
