The painting depicts a model of Pegasus whose wings are made from scallop shells (a reference to his father Poseidon and Botticelli's 'Birth of Venus'). Pegasus is encased in an illusory prism drawn onto the glass frame placed in front of the figure.
As a whole, the piece explores the interaction between philosophy, mathematics and mythology.
